picture of the day

the Nohoch Mul pyramid of the Pre-Columbian Maya civilization Coba located in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is approximately 140 ft. tall, and there are about 120 stairs leading up to the temple at the top. It is the tallest pyriamid of the Yucaton Peninsula.

Below is a view of the same structure from ground level... this perspective is slightly distorting as to how high and steep nohoch mul really is (you get a better idea in the picture above). once you're about half way up those stairs though you really begin to feel the elevation more accurately (we climbed to the top last week. it was incredible.)
